Projects from the past - a little about me

I'm excited to share with you my projects from the past and the processes for my latest work!
I also want to help you make the best decision for your art piece by explaining the best type of picture to use, should you have it done in color or black and white, and any other fun, creative ways, to make this piece uniquely yours. Be sure to follow the blog, as, I will be writing and posting these tips through out the year.

Lets start with some pieces from the past. I've been making art all my life. I can't recall the first project or even my favorite project... only that creating is in my blood. And it seems that I've always enjoyed creating portraits the most. As you can see in the photo below, my High School art portfolio consisted mainly of portraits.

I ventured to Arizona for College and graduated with an Associates Degree in Graphic Arts and Visual Communications. I later moved my artwork from paper to a computer and worked as a graphic designer in many different fashions, from sign making, print, and advertising and marketing.

I continued my love of portrait making  with fun projects for friends and began teaching graphic design using Adobe illustrator at Butler Community College. One of the most liked class assignments was creating portraits in Illustrator.

I now work as a graphic designer full time and continue to create custom portraits. I still love working with pencil and paper, but, I also LOVE using my two talents together, digital and traditional, to create one-of-a-kind pieces of art.

Be sure to check out my online gallery which contains some of my latest work, and unique pieces from the past. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to follow along this year as I share tips and tricks and other ideas on the process of my pencil portraits.
